The Dunbar Family just wanted to let you both know how much we enjoyed our stay at
Alto Hombre Gordito Hideout! When we drove into Ruidoso we were SO THANKFUL that we
chose your place instead of one of the others we were looking at. My what they can
do with pictures! Most of the other "cabins" are sitting right on the pavement in
the middle of town! We would have hated that! Plus, you are so close to Ski Apache
and the tubing hill! We loved seeing the Mule Deer and Elk and other wildlife!
Speaking of Ski Apache, we had an awesome time on Sunday! You were right about it
being the best day to go. We never waited in line for one lift and the ski lessons
were perfect for our 7 year old. You were right, 90 minutes in a lesson and she was
going down the slopes with us! Thanks for saving us the hassle of ski rental at Ski
Apache too! It was really nice to just drive up and already have everything done
with NO WAITING! You guys are the best and we will FOR SURE stay with you again.
Only, next time, we will come in a 4x4!  HAHA

Ruidoso New Mexico climate is very pleasant with 360 days a year of sunshine and blue skies.

At 7,300 feet, The Mountain Resort summer daytime highs only in the 80s even at the height of summer. Low humidity around 25% allows overnight temperatures to drop to comfortable sleeping conditions. July through September brings on the annual monsoon, with increased humidity moderating both high and low temperatures. Wintertime brings comfortable 50s and 60s during daytime and cools off to 30s and 40s during nighttime. Ski season starts with Thanksgiving and continues through Easter.
