Lots of Fun!

The Land of Enchantment casts a spell even the toughest, most focused jeep enthousiast on the planet couldn't resist. You marvel at the forests of aspen, ancient mine ruins, sleepy towns and ghost towns, cliff dwellings and creek side habitat of oak and sycamore. It is just amazing.

New Mexico, with an incredible variety of terrain, sparse crowds, and thousands of miles of trails, may be the country's best off-road locale.

Ruidoso is in a so called 'alpine' mountain area, where the breezes are cool, the climbs formidable and lovely, and jeep trails weave along narrow traces through pine forests and expansive meadows.

Be prepared. Ride with at least two bottles of water per person, and the tools to fix a flat tire and a broken chain. Carry a rain jacket. Make sure your light works for evening and night trips. That's it. Off you go !!

We have jeep trail descriptions for trails just around the corner of Alto Hombre Gordito and at Fort Stanton, trails in the National Forest and Nogal Canyon. You will love it.

Interested in ATV / 4-wheeler trails? That’s great. We have plenty of trails in the area. You need to trailer your ATV to the trails, but that is just around the corner from Alto Hombre Gordito Hideout. You do need a temporary New Mexico license. Just contact:
