Love to Stay at Alto Hombre

| | TrackBacks (0)

We love to stay at Alto Hombre. We have been coming here since 2002. We first came and stayed in RV Sites and then moved to the Cabins.

We have always enjoyed the seclusion and openess.

We have visited as couples and as large family and have enjoyed the staff and beautiful surroundings.

Vacation to Ruidoso. Great Decision!!

| | TrackBacks (0)

Our family took a vacation to Ruidoso without any prior knowledge or advice on where to stay other than what I had seen in a visitor's guide. After an Internet search, I found the AHGH & decided to take a chance on it rather than one of the hotels or lodges directly in town.

It turned out to be a great decision!!

If you want hustle & bustle, stay in town. If you want to relax & not worry about your kids & are looking for privacy, come to the AHGH.

We stayed in the Bell cabin & loved it. It was so nice & comfortable and had a great view from the porch.

cactus.jpgWe went horseback riding which was limited due to the forest being closed, but it was still a lot of fun & Misty our guide was great. The horses we rode were quality horses & Misty made the best of our ride.

cartermisty.jpgI had a great Internet connection, movies were in the office if we wanted to get one. Everything was here for us.

Most importantly, our hosts Nicki & Franz were so nice. We are from Southeast Texas, I guess we are typical Texans you might say, and Nicki & Franz are from ???. So we talk 'funny' & they did too! So it was great both ways. They work hard to keep up the Hideout & we loved the rustic nature vs. the commercialism we saw in town. I can't wait to come back & see this in the SNOW!

If you want a quiet, beautiful vacation in the best hideout in Ruidoso, come! You will not regret it. i will be back ASAP.

Thank you.

Our stay herewas the ultimate experience. our cabin had a private jacuzzi as well as a fully equiped kitchen. It was so relaxing, and it seemed like you were at home, but not.

We truly enjoyed our stay here and will be returning as much as possible.

Oh, and we love "Peaunut". We wish we had a pup just like her.

Alto Hombre Gordito

Excerpt from Westernscribe, Austin, TX, May 2008:

Alto Hombre Gordito fulfilled our expectations for a rustic getaway. Our cabin was cozy, kind of cute, and most of all, impressively clean.

I booked because the price was highly reasonable in a tourist area, they allowed us to bring the cat, and their website made it look fun.

We were delighted to find that it is quite far from the noise and crowding of Ruidoso.

Our cabin was set high over the other lodgings, with a beautiful mountain view. It had a fireplace. We went horseback riding.

The people running the place are very polite. They smile a lot and socialize and we all had a good time.

It was hard to explain to the cat that this was not where we lived, and we had to go back to our apartment.

Yes, we would go again to Alto Hombre Gordito.
